MINDFULNESS BODY SCAN
During the 45-60 minute session we refine our attention so that we connect more fully with the present moment. It may be pleasant, unpleasant or neutral. We focus on the breath and bringing breath to the areas of our body that hold tension. We use our senses to connect by listening, observing and opening our hearts. Mindfulness does not depend on what's happening; however, it is about observing how we relate to what is happening, and then changing the direction if need be.
YOGA NIDRA
Yoga Nidra involves slowing down and chilling out. With Yoga Nidra, the goal is to move into a deep state of "conscious awareness sleep". This is actually a deeper state of relaxation with awareness. It is yogic or psychic sleep. It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, induced by guided Meditation. Yoga Nidra guided meditation is a very structured body scan and visualization meditation. Yoga Nidra can leave you feeling like you indulged in a three-hour nap.

Kids Yoga - ages 4 - 9
Teaching yoga to children is like nothing else. It's a great way to exercise the body and the mind.
During Kerri's classes, kids will get to hear a story that is centered on the theme of the class. They will then do some breathwork to make the kids accustom to different breathing techniques. They will then learn several different yoga poses during each class that will be made into a fun game. Occasionally, there will be a little arts & crafts incorporated into class, depending on the class theme.
Kerri truly enjoys teaching kids yoga. She strives to make a positive impact on each child by teaching things they can take with them into the real world
Yin Yoga targets your physical, mental and emotional concerns through deep stretching and breathing. However, unlike most yang styles of yoga - which typically focuses on stretching muscles and emphasize shorter hold times - yin yoga reaches deeper into the connective tissue or fascia - the tissue around muscles and organs and the tendons and ligaments. It also creates strength and stability in your joints by allowing fluid to penetrate the fascia and keep it flexible.
All poses are done from a seated or kneeling position and held for 3 - 5 minutes. I encourage the use of bolsters and props to insure your comfort so that you do hold the pose. No muscular engagement or pain should be felt during a pose. We want gravity to take you deeper into the stretch. The more comfortable you are the longer you will stay in a pose and the deeper you may go into that stretch.
We only have the present moment. We are not promised tomorrow and cannot change yesterday. If we are tense and anxious, we are not able to live the moment to the fullest. Mindfulness brings you back to the moment, allows you to let go, and brings an awareness of self and surroundings
